keeping wrinkles clean and clear
My girls haven't had problems with their eye folds or nose wrinkles becoming red and irritated because they have smaller heads and their wrinkles aren’t as deep. Tank and Ruger, my males, need the wrinkles near their eyes and nose cleaned every day. You can also have this issue regardless of male or female if your bulldog has a big rope over his or her nose. If it’s deep it needs cleaning every day. Get them used to this early in life so you’re not chasing them around to clean their faces as adults. I take a warm white baby wash cloths to their faces and gently give both boys a cleansing with baby soap in all of their facial wrinkles. I dry their faces and folds with either a paper towel or tissue. This is very important to keep the folds dry. Tank gets especially dirty right above his nose. I use Animax Ointment if I see a sore or redness developing. When a bully has yeast in their folds or dermatitis, it’s a very strong sour smell, you’ll know if your dog has it. Keeping their faces clean will cut back on the growth of yeast in their folds. They get used to this treatment over time and my dogs don’t fight me about it at all. I’ve done this for the boys since they were babies. It’s worth it to see a pretty clear face and a happy baby.
